About Us

firm Profile

We have been providing structural engineering services for architects, owners, and the building community since 1948, when the firm was started by Arthur W. Lookup. Since that time, we have engineered a broad range of projects, including:

  • Large hospital projects including major additions to Abington Memorial Hospital, Phoenixville Hospital, Paoli Hospital, Hershey Medical Center, Christiana Hospital, and the Rhode Island Medical Mall.
  • Educational projects for public and private schools and colleges, including classroom and research facilities, dormitories, dining halls, and athletic facilities. We have engineered a substantial number of the buildings at Penn State University’s main campus.
  • Continuing care retirement communities, health care facilities, and housing for the elderly.
  • Courthouses, municipal buildings and correctional facilities.
  • Arenas, including a major expansion of the Pennsylvania State Farm Show complex.
  • Hotels, including all 18 of the former McIntosh Motor Inns.
  • System control centers for electric utilities.
  • Highly sophisticated laboratory facilities.
  • Commercial office buildings.
  • Shopping centers.
  • Warehouses and light industrial buildings.
  • Churches.
  • Retrofits and renovations including the restoration of Philadelphia’s City Hall Tower.
  • Precast and post-tensioned parking garages.

Our staff consists of highly experienced professional engineers with registrations in numerous states, as well as CAD and BIM specialists. Our strengths lie in providing prompt, efficient and useful services for our client and the project. We work hard to develop the most appropriate and economical structural solutions of each building. We make a special effort to solve the problems of the project and present complete and well thought out solutions on construction drawings so that contractors can submit a tighter bid and avoid problem areas during construction. We make a concerted effort with our client to achieve a successfully completed project.
